About Us

St Davids Trekking Centre provides a personal service where our customers are treated like friends. In order to achieve this we have a policy of no more than four customers to each member of staff. This level of customer care is what really sets us apart from most other trekking centres.

Like our customers, our horses are also treated like individuals. Not expected to behave like robots simply following nose to tail the horses can express their kind, gentle, willing temperaments. As a reward for this we use hand made treeless saddles and wherever possible bit-less bridles which are much more comfortable for the horses than conventional tack. The majority of our horses also go barefoot and pad along on their naturally hard hoofs just like they would in the wild.

Penlan Farm itself is a 500 year old Grade II Listed building and the land covers 194 acres. As well as our riding horses the farm is home to five breeding herds of Gypsy Vanners (over 200 in total, more during the foaling season). This makes it a busy place to work throughout the year.
